Sharon Coolican is the owner and driving force behind Saskatoon Corporate Services.

After working most recently for the federal government and several large employers, she has discovered that she craved the freedom of running her own company and needed the flexibility to offer a range of services for both large and small businesses alike.

She loves helping people learn how to optimize the tools they use everyday in order to make their work - and their company - and more effective and efficient. With over 20 years work experience in a wide variety of roles and industries, she has the business acumen to determine the needs of you and your company in today's challenging business environment.

Her experiences in a wide range of work environments and sectors have made her an adaptable and flexible personality with the unique ability to learn the process of a new industry quickly, so that she is able to adapt her skill set to the requirements of almost any company.

She has worked for an array of companies including: construction and electrical contractors, plumbing manufacturers, financial services, educational institutions, newspaper production, tug and barge operations, hospitality services, mining operations, and trucking and transportation companies. She has also worked in various large companies and government agencies in such departments as: information technology, infrastructure services, tax collection, tax auditing, field operations supervision and compensation divisions.

 

Prior Experience

  • Over 20 years of experience with daily accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable and inventory data entry.

  • Over 20 years experience in all aspects of business administration, from creating processes and procedures to preparing documentation and communications.

  • 18 years experience with payroll (for staff ranging from 5 to 150), bank reconciliations, budgeting and all financial reporting.

  • 15 years administration and human resource management, responsible for offices ranging from franchise offices with 10-15 staff members, to larger divisional operations with 75-200 staff members.

  • 15 years of instruction experience covering word processing, spreadsheets, databases and accounting programs including: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access), Simply Accounting, QuickBooks, customized databases, Windows (various versions), and numerous business, sales and communication skills courses

  • 10 years of inventory tracking/management and reporting experience.

  • She also worked for 5 years at Canada Revenue Agency in the Collections and Audit divisions.
